ABOUT THE EVENT Looking for a different way to celebrate Indonesia's Independence Day? Join us for a relaxed afternoon exploring Jakarta's historic Chinatown. Instead of the usual games and ceremonies, let's become tourists in our own city, walking through heritage streets, enjoying festive Independence Day decorations, tasting local food, and meeting new people along the way. Our journey begins at Djauw Coffee, where we'll meet, grab a drink, and get to know each other before setting off on foot through Glodok's vibrant streets. We'll explore hidden alleys, historic landmarks, colorful murals, temples, and photo-worthy corners before ending our walk at Petak Enam, where we'll enjoy food, drinks, and soak in the Independence Day atmosphere. And while we're out exploring... keep your eyes open. You might want to capture your favorite moment along the way; there may be a little surprise waiting for one creative participant at the end. ABOUT THE HOST Your host for this event will be Gina, a seasoned local with a lot of knowledge about the city and eager to welcome new friends to our community. HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE EVENT? To register, just click “Attend”! There are a few simple rules • We kindly ask attendees who cannot manage to join to update their RSVP at least 24 h before the event as a courtesy to other attendees and event organisers. • Don't be late! We need to hop on the bus together • People on the waitlist cannot attend, and are encouraged to check a few hours before the event to see if they got a spot • 3X no-show = removal from the group. • Cancellations within 2 hours of the event are unfriendly to organisers, venues, and fellow attendees, and will be considered as a no-show.
