About this event

Adults (18+). Who were the Neanderthals and Denisovans? What was their relationship (anatomical, behavioral and genetic) to modern humans? Do you have Neanderthal or Denisovan DNA? When and where did modern humans (Homo Sapiens) first evolve? This talk will present an overview of current research on these fascinating questions. A demonstration of Neanderthal stone tool making techniques will be provided, along with visuals aids including replica casts used to demonstrate the anatomical differences between Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens. Presenter: John Barthelme, retired Anthropologist and Professor at St. Lawrence University
