About this event

Calling people of all personality types! Can experiential learning about psychological type be as powerful online as it is in person? That is what I want to discover—and it is the purpose of this workshop. There are many opportunities to take the MBTI® or a similar assessment online, receive a type description, and discuss personality differences with others. But something different happens in an experiential, in-person workshop. Some moments from classes I facilitated years ago remain seared in my mind. I did not merely learn about the differences intellectually; I witnessed them. That experience embodied type for me. Can we create that same kind of visceral recognition online? I want to find out—and I need the MBTI community’s help with the experiment. During this highly interactive 75-minute workshop, we will engage in classic S&N type exercises that bring Jung’s functions to life i.e. examine an object and compare your group’s responses with those of people who have different preferences. Watching distinct patterns emerge spontaneously among groups of people takes the learning to another level. Come prepared to experiment, and help answer the question: Can an online workshop make psychological type come alive? For the most fun, learning, and personal insight, invite friends, family members, or colleagues to attend with you. The more varied the group, the more opportunities we will have to recognize Sensing and Intuition in action. No prior knowledge of psychological type is required. About the Host Tanya Straker has facilitated numerous in-person workshops introducing psychological type and using it to support communication, team building, and personal development. Her sessions combine experiential exercises, group dialogue, and thoughtful debriefing to help participants recognize type differences in action. She is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® and Color Q, the type-based tool she most often uses with individuals and teams. She previously served as president of the New York Association for Psychological Type and has extensive experience helping people recognize, understand, and appreciate differences in how they take in information, make decisions, communicate, and work with others. Tanya is the founder of the Center for Society’s Intelligences, where she is developing the Four Intelligences framework for understanding how distinct human intelligences contribute to individuals, organizations, and society.
