About this event

Adults: 18 and up, Teens: 13 to 19 years. Join us for a screening of the dark fantasy cult classic, Return to Oz (1985). Be sure and check out this month's Adult Book Club selection, Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts and our screening of The Wizard of Oz (1939). When nobody believes Dorothy's stories about Oz, Aunt Em seeks medical intervention. A storm changes things when Dorothy is whisked back to Oz along with her pet chicken, Belina (who can now talk), to find that things aren't as she left them. The yellow brick road is destroyed, the Emerald City is abandoned, and the evil Nome King rules over the land (and the ruby slippers!). The Wicked Witch of the West seems tamed compared to Dorothy's encounters with headless witches, wheelers, and the Deadly Desert. © Walt Disney Pictures - 110 minutes - Rated PG Community Cinema is at a branch near you! Check out hundreds of other screenings at libraries across Chicago. Accessibility English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing will be available for this screening.
