Meet the Maker-in-Residence Josie Everett (AKA Rosie Josie)

Adults: 18 and up, Teens: 13 to 19 years. The Summer 2026 Maker-in-Residence, Josie Campbell (AKA Rosie Josie) is a Chicago based printmaker. To create her prints, she hand carves original art into a linoleum tile using fine woodcarving tools, ink the carved tile, and press the paper into it by hand using a spoon. When she removes the paper from the block the reverse print of the linoleum tile is revealed. This means each one of the prints is made by hand and slightly different. Inspiration for her art is drawn from folklore, mythology, mysterious and beautiful quirks of nature, and the perspectives and understanding of the world she held as a child. She is fascinated by the idolization and demonization of historical figures and characters in our common lore and likes to explore memory in her work. In many ways, the work she creates functions as something that honors, explores, and meditates on its subject.
