About this event

Adults: 18 and up, Teens: 13 to 19 years, Tweens: 10 to 13 years. Join a local TreeKeeper to get to know the trees in our South Shore neighborhood. Learn to identify common trees in Chicago and learn about their unique qualities, lineages and their relationships to one another and why a diversity of species keeps our urban forest resilient. You'll learn some basics of tree identification, as well as how the trees in our neighborhood fit into the larger picture of evolution and ecology. Openlands TreeKeepers are a group of volunteer urban forest stewards that advocate for the overall health and care of trees in the Chicago Region.
