The Story Your Brain Creates
About this event
The Story Your Brain Creates How focus, meaning and emotion shape what you do next Have you ever caught yourself reacting to something, overthinking it, replaying it, or getting frustrated with yourself afterward and thinking: “Why did I make such a big deal out of that?” “Why do I always assume the worst?” “Why do I know what I want to do, but still respond the same way?” This bonus meetup is a little different from my usual sessions. No big workshop. No workbook. Just a short, interactive conversation about something your brain does every single day without you realizing it: It creates a story. And that story can influence what you focus on, what you believe something means, how you feel, and ultimately what you do next. During this session, we’ll explore: • Why two people can experience the same situation completely differently • How what you focus on can quietly shape what happens next • Why the meaning you give something can change your emotional response • How your emotional state influences the actions you take, or avoid • A simple way to catch yourself before an automatic pattern takes over I’ll also give you a very simple exercise at the beginning that we’ll come back to at the end, and you may be surprised by what your own brain fills in. This is especially for you if you’re a smart, self-aware woman who has done a lot of work on herself, but still catches herself: overthinking, second-guessing, holding back, starting over, or reacting in ways she already knows aren’t helping. You probably don’t need more information. Sometimes you need to notice the story that’s already running. Come join us for this shorter, more conversational bonus meetup and see what your brain has been creating without you even realizing it.
