About this event

NSW Humanists Meetup's FACE-TO-FACE discussion event this Sunday 27 September 2026 for 3-5PM at Humanist House in Chippendale will share ideas on LIVING WELL. The discussion will be led by Fay Love. This is not about philosophy or any academic expertise, but is about ordinary people's approach to our everyday existence and the extraordinary lives we make for ourselves, regardless of the accidents of personal circumstance, and the realities of human life here on earth. Can we sum up our personal approach in a maxim, proverb, quote, motto, lifestance, discipline, formula, or other guiding advice? This would help share ideas, but we can also share on the difficulties and disappointments which test our confidence in many inherited kernels of human wisdom. There are no perfect answers and everyone will have ideas and experiences to share. Please come and join us. Our events allow for people interested in learning and discussing humanism to meet in a dedicated space, in an atmosphere that allows time and space for good conversation on interesting topics. ABOUT HUMANISM Humanism is a flexible, open-minded life philosophy where we explore our common humanity in an awesome world without theism (religion) and other supernatural beliefs. There is no dogma but a shared reality and an appreciation of basic human values like compassion, reason, and fairness. Humanism can be seen in the best aspects of the modern Enlightenment - secularism, science, social democracy, human rights, and human flourishing. We have a concern for the biosphere, and a delight in the world as it is - and as it could be. Our discussions respect reason, respect one another, and reject all dogmatic thinking. NSW Humanist Meetup is sponsored by the Humanist Society of NSW. The HSNSW encourages honest, open conversations held in a respectful manner.
