Adult. Edmonton Writers' Group presents a series of creative writing workshops for beginner-level authors, leading participants through the stages of writing and supporting the development of personal manuscripts. Please note: Working toward the goal of writing the first draft of a story, participants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions, as they build on those previously offered. Writers should also bring a notebook or laptop with them to help capture and share their ideas with the group as the series progresses. In this session we will look at how to start the actual writing, and get your readers' invested in your story so they will continue to turn the pages. Some of this will deal with the characters, the setting(s), the way the first pages read and much more.
