The hand-made pipe organ, by Austrian manufacturer Rieger Orgelbau, has always been the focal point of the magnificent Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall. With 4 manuals, 93 stops and 8 000 pipes, this “King of the Instruments” remains one of the largest mechanical tracker action concert hall organs in the world. To explore the pipe organ’s majestic territory of sounds and rich tonal colours, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre proudly presents an exciting educational concert featuring two exceptional local organists, Marsha Chow and Gary Tong. Through audio-visual displays, they will take audiences on a fascinating journey, exploring the origin and development of the pipe organ, and intricate design of the Rieger Organ at the Concert Hall. With their passionate live demonstrations, the two organists will also reveal the dazzling array of musical styles and diverse tonal families that make this “King of Instruments” truly unique, inspiring a deeper appreciation and sparking a newfound love for organ music in every listener.
香港文化中心音樂廳氣派宏偉,當中最矚目的,莫過於由奧地利萊格公司以人手製造、有「樂器之王」美譽的管風琴。這座管風琴是世界最大型的機械式連動演奏廳管風琴之一,擁有四排鍵盤、九十三個音栓和八千支音管。 為了讓大家體驗管風琴恢宏寛廣的音域和變化多端的音色,香港文化中心特別邀請了兩位出色的本地管風琴師周文珊及唐展煌,主持管風琴導賞音樂會。兩位講者將以圖片及短片播放,深入淺出地講解管風琴的起源和演變、以及香港文化中心管風琴的內部結構;並會現場示範管風琴不同的演奏風格和豐富多彩的音域變化,讓觀眾感受這座「樂器之王」的獨特魅力,啟發他們對管風琴音樂的欣賞和熱愛。
