About this event

Adults: 18 and up, Seniors: 55 and up. Author and Ambassador Jaroslav Olša Jr. will present his book Dreaming of Autonomous Vehicles, about Czech American writer Miles J. Breuer, a pioneer of science fiction who imagined self-driving cars decades before their time. The talk offers a fascinating look at Czech contributions to early American science fiction and the origins of a remarkably modern vision of the future. This program is in conjunction with Czech Heritage Week, a vibrant celebration for Chicagoans of all backgrounds to experience and discover Czech culture, and with the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago.
