And even if you live in Taipei, Friday night can still feel a little empty when you want to go out — but don’t know who to call. That’s why we created this monthly Taipei Singles Night for single locals, expats, solo travelers, digital nomads, remote workers and newcomers who want to meet people naturally. We start at Somewhere Bar, where you’ll have time to actually talk, have a drink and get to know people. Then at around 10:00 PM, our hosts gather everyone who wants to continue and lead the group out for hosted bar hopping. 🍻🎧 So you don’t have to walk into Taipei nightlife alone. By then, you already know some people. 👋 Coming solo is completely normal here. We’ll have 3 friendly hosts onsite to welcome you, introduce people and help you join conversations. Some of our hosts actually first joined Taipei Weekend Social as guests themselves. They know what it feels like to arrive alone, look around the room and think: “Who should I talk to?” So you don’t have to figure out that first step by yourself. And on Friday, our hosts don’t disappear when the first event ends. They stay with the group and lead the bar hopping after 10 PM. 📌 First time joining? There’s a FAQ near the bottom. *** 💘 What this night is really about This is a Singles Night. But we don’t want it to feel like a dating interview. No forced matches or speed-dating rounds. You don’t need to arrive thinking: “I have to find someone tonight.” The idea is much simpler: Put single people in the same room, make it easy to talk, and see who you naturally connect with. Have a drink. Meet some new faces. Laugh. Move around. Talk to someone you normally wouldn’t meet. Maybe you meet someone you want to see again. Maybe you leave with a few new single friends. Maybe you find a group to continue Friday night with. All of those are good outcomes. No pressure to find a date. Just more chances to meet someone worth seeing again. *** 🍻 How the Night Works 1\. Meet First｜7:00–10:00 PM 🍷 We start at Somewhere Bar in Da’an. Grab your included drink, settle in and meet the group. Our hosts will help introduce new guests, connect people naturally and make sure solo arrivals don’t spend the first 20 minutes standing around wondering who to talk to. You’ll usually meet a mix of: ✦ Singles living in Taipei ✦ Expats & newcomers ✦ Solo travelers visiting Taiwan ✦ Digital nomads & remote workers ✦ International students ✦ Taiwanese locals who enjoy an international social circle The group is international, so English and Mandarin are both naturally used. But this is not a language exchange. The point is simply: Meet people you may actually want to see again. 🥃 8:00–8:30 PM｜Shots Time Try to arrive before this if you can. We’ll gather everyone for a group toast and kick the night up a little together. 🥂 It’s also an easy moment to meet more people before the second half of the night. *** 2\. Hosted Bar Hopping After 10 PM 🍻🎧 At around 10:00 PM, our hosts gather everyone who wants to continue and lead the group out for bar hopping. This is one of the biggest highlights of Friday night. By then, you’ve already had time to: remember some names, find people you enjoy talking to, and figure out who you want to keep hanging out with. So the second half doesn’t feel like walking into nightlife with strangers. It feels more like: “We just met. Let’s keep the night going.” Depending on the night, we may head toward Maji Square, nearby bars or other Taipei nightlife spots.
