Boston Armizare: Live Demonstration of Historical Fencing

All Adults, College Students, Older Adults, Teens (Ages 13-18), Visitors, Young Adults (Ages 20-34). Boston Armizare, a historical fencing club based in Brighton, will be giving a lecture and demonstration on the techniques used in medieval and renaissance duels. Attendees will learn about the reasons people would fight one another and the manuals duelists would use to prepare themselves, and will also witness live fights with the longsword, rapier and dagger, and sword and buckler. This program is recommended for ages 18 and up. Please be aware the presentation includes discussion of duels that ended in particularly brutal ways. About Boston Armizare: Boston Armizare is a HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) group researching and practicing Medieval and Renaissance combat according to the teachings of Fiore de'i Liberi and other Italian masters. Our students are dedicated to the rigorous study and effective practice of Armizare (The Art of Bearing Arms — an integrated system of longsword, dagger, grappling, and more).
