Written and directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, the film follows a grieving couple who, two years after losing their young son, take in an advanced humanoid robot built to look and act exactly like him.The film explores the emotional and unsettling consequences of trying to move forward while a mechanical replacement of their child lives in their home.**
