About this event

Archetypes That Ruin You Most people don’t just struggle because of their circumstances. They struggle because, somewhere along the way, they unconsciously stepped into a role. A role that keeps them stuck. A role that explains why they can’t change. Why help won’t work. Why they’re different. Why they’re too damaged. Why they always collapse. Why life never seems to move forward. This talk is about the hidden identities that quietly shape our lives, especially the ones built around pain, failure, shame, helplessness, and being “too far gone.” We’ll look at how people become attached to certain inner stories, how those stories can feel like truth, and how they can secretly block healing, discipline, love, success, and spiritual growth. This is not about blaming yourself. It is about seeing the pattern clearly enough that you can finally stop living inside it. After the talk, we’ll do a guided letting go session focused on releasing the emotions underneath these identities: shame, fear, self-pity, resentment, despair, pride, and the strange comfort of staying stuck. Come if you feel like something in you keeps repeating the same patterns, even when you know better. Come if you’re tired of being trapped in the same story. Come if part of you is ready to let go. About the Instructor Dillon Freed is a psychology and neuroscience professor, speaker, writer, and founder of the Letting Go Center in New York City. His work explores the connection between emotion, consciousness, spirituality, the brain, and personal transformation. He teaches courses on mind, brain, behavior, neuroscience, and consciousness, while also developing a practical method of emotional release called Letting Go. Dillon’s approach is direct, psychological, and spiritual. He focuses on the hidden emotional patterns that keep people stuck, especially shame, fear, resentment, self-pity, pride, despair, and the identities people unconsciously build around pain. At the Letting Go Center, his goal is simple: to help people stop carrying what they no longer need to carry. These sessions are not about fake positivity or pretending everything is fine. They are about feeling what is actually there, seeing the pattern clearly, and letting it go.
