Full description ⬇️ Ask in the comments anything not answered here... We are the biggest, first, most active, and most inclusive MeetUp community in Jakarta… and we invite you to join us for this BOOK CLUB: Anthem (1937) by Ayn Rand! Everyone is always welcome to join our events. Our community is all about creating authentic in-person connections in this urban jungle. Come as you are... it’s the best version of yourself. ABOUT THE EVENT The idea is very simple: we will meet and discuss the book. Everyone will receive a copy of the book as PDF beforehand for free (which we kindly ask not to share with everyone - this book discussion is for educational purposes). Reach out to the host to receive the PDF, and feel free to ask any question in the discussion section of the event page. Everyone is encouraged to read the short book (in English, about 100 pages) beforehand to participate to the discussion. Coming without having read the book is possible, but just half the fun. The host will give a short introduction about the book and guide through the discussion, which will be very informal and fun. Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts and ask questions. This event is introvert friendly! No one will be put on the spot or forced to speak. Just join and share your passion for literature, no matter how much you read. This is a dream event for anyone who wishes to take a deep dive into literature and have a fun, social lunch time. Our book club will be in English. Everyone's English level is OK as this is a nice occasion to practice English in an informal and welcoming setting. ABOUT THE BOOK We will read beforehand and discuss during the event Anthem by Ayn Rand. Anthem is a dystopia novella written in 1937 about a primitive future society where the concept of individuality has been completely erased in favor of an extreme collectivist state. Equality 7-2521 is a brilliant young man assigned to be a street sweeper secretly explores an old subway tunnel from the past and rediscover electricity and independent scientific thought. He falls in love with a woman named Liberty 5-3000, which defies the law against personal preference. After the state rejects his invention, he flees into the unchartered wilderness to build a free society based on individual ego and freedom. 📖 Read more on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthem_(novella) ➡️ Get in touch with Theresa to get a free Pdf of the book (educational purposes only -- no sharing with anyone) You can join this event without having read (the full) book, too, but this is half the fun. The group discussion will be lead by an experienced reader and writer! Don't miss this unique event! We have had several Book Clubs before!
