Why You Can't Say No: Understanding People-Pleasing Through Somatics
About this event
This is a women-only space. Do you find yourself saying “yes” when you actually want to say no? Maybe you constantly worry about disappointing people, avoid conflict, over-explain yourself, or put other people's needs before your own. You might even know intellectually that you should set boundaries, but when the moment comes, your body says otherwise. People-pleasing isn't simply being “too nice.” For many of us, it can be a deeply learned survival pattern: staying agreeable, helpful, and easy to be around in order to feel safe, accepted, or loved. In this interactive online somatic workshop for women, we'll explore what happens in your body when you abandon your own needs to keep others comfortable. Together, we will explore: • Why it can feel so difficult to say no • The connection between people-pleasing, fear and your nervous system • How suppressed anger can show up when your boundaries are repeatedly crossed • How to recognize the moment you leave yourself to keep someone else happy • A gentle somatic practice to reconnect with our own needs, sensations, and boundaries • How to begin creating boundaries without drowning in guilt This isn't a lecture where you simply sit and listen. You'll have the opportunity to feel, notice, and experience the patterns in your own body. You don't need any previous experience with somatic therapy or embodiment work. Come exactly as you are — curious, uncomfortable, emotional, or simply tired of always being the “good girl.” 🌀 Online \| Interactive \| Experiential \| No previous experience required
