About this event

Teens: 13 to 19 years. Join the Teen Librarian to explore Ari Tison's book Saints of the Household, which follows Max and Jay, Bribri American brothers growing up with a physically abusive father and struggling with the aftermath of their violent actions defending a classmate one afternoon. Teens will have an opportunity to read from the book together, share their impressions and discuss the main themes and questions of the book. Participants are not required to read the book prior to attending the reading group; we will read passages together. For teens ages 13 to 18. Real Ones Read is a program funded through a grant by Urban Libraries Council. This program focuses on helping teens develop literacy and communication skills while providing a safe space for dialogue and learning.
