Asia+ Festival 2026: Guitar Duo Recital by Assad Brothers

Sixty years at the top of the guitar world together, Sérgio and Odair Assad bring their anniversary world tour to Hong Kong for an evening of unrivalled virtuosity and telepathic unity, where Brazilian folk, Latin, jazz and classical styles meet as one. Winners of multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, the Brazilian masters have collaborated with the greatest names in classical music, including Yo-Yo Ma, Gidon Kremer and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Astor Piazzolla, renowned as “father of new tango”, wrote works for them. The programme brings together their most iconic repertoire, from Piazzolla’s mesmerising tango and Villa-Lobos’ Brazilian soul to Sérgio Assad’s own celebrated compositions, alongside Brazilian treasures rarely heard in Hong Kong. Local guzheng player Wan Xing joins in a special piece inspired by the legend of Mulan, in celebration of China-Brazil Cultural Year in 2026.

來自巴西的阿薩德二重奏縱橫古典結他樂壇逾半世紀，以高超技巧和非凡默契見稱。2026年適逢兄弟合作六十周年及中巴文化年，來港獻技以饗樂迷。 阿薩德二重奏的音樂糅合巴西民謠、拉丁、爵士和古典，獲多個拉丁格林美及格林美獎項肯定。他們曾合作的一流藝術家不計其數，除了與馬友友、甘祈頓和洛杉磯愛樂樂團等合作之外，阿根廷傳奇作曲家皮亞梭拉亦曾專門為他們譜曲。 今次演出作品涵蓋他們歷來最為樂迷津津樂道的曲目，包括皮亞梭拉的迷人探戈、巴西史上最偉大作曲家魏拉-羅伯斯筆下的本土風情和沙治奧・阿薩德的原創作品，更有在香港鮮有演出的巴西特色旋律。本地古箏演奏家萬幸將與大師合奏一首以花木蘭為靈感的全新樂曲，作為送給香港樂迷的特別禮物。
