Meditations (Marcus RG)

About this event

The "Marcus Aurelius Reading Group" (Marcus RG) meets every Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. PDT / UTC-8 The meetings usually start with a brief chat among the attendees. Then one or two volunteers will read an entry from Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations translated by Robin Waterfield [https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/marcus-aurelius/meditations/9781541673861/?lens=basic-books (https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/marcus-aurelius/meditations/9781541673861/?lens=basic-books)]. Other translations may be consulted. Then we share our impressions: What did Marcus mean? Do we agree? Why or why not? And, of course, how may Marcus’ insights help us in our everyday lives? We may read more than one entry per meeting depending on time. There is no need to prepare or read in advance; the attendees will take turns reading passages out loud and then sharing their thoughts on them.
