Well tomorrow is October 1st and will be time to open up the new site to those interested in what I’m launching. I’ve been working with a few of the folks from the team - brainstorming and collaborating. We are not done, but then if you wait until it is perfect you may never launch. So - What is the site? It is a Networking site designed to connect many of the different groups together and bring visibility to Tech and Business activities together from around Tampa Bay. It is part news site, part Linked-in style networking site, part job tool site. For those who know me, I am a technologist, developer, AI orchestrator and Author. I recently wrote a book called “AI Job Wars”, about how AI is causing grief for applicants and hiring professionals. Well - We are NOT posting jobs on the site. There are too many fake and ghost jobs and we need to trust those postings. (Though there may be some project lists coming). But - For the Job applicants, this site is, as my kid used top say, “The Bomb”. The site will also contain daily updates of Central Florida job and business news including topics surrounding hiring companies, expansions, and new jobs. Florida in-person Job Fairs are updated daily on the site. Many companies are moving to more in-person hiring events due to the lack of faith of online applicants. (That whole fakeness goes in both directions). Meetup events from all major LOCAL area groups going out 60 days. And we are filtering out the fakers - those groups that have “Tampa Bay” in their group name yet are all from California, Colorado, Seattle or other locals. If the group is not in Central Florida they are not on the site. Did I mention Networking? Not only can you build a networking group as many of us do at the in-person events, but you will be able to SEE your network. See who vouches for you or others. And this view will extend out to a multi-dimensional view. You can see “Friends-of-Friends” and many of those will also be Friends of yours allowing you to know and expand your network farther than before. And the major groups in the Area? ECC, Embarc, Spark-Labs and Others will be just a click away as will their event calendars. After 9pm I will send out the site links. During the in-person event I will give participants the password for early signups. I have some fine tuning to do but will soon follow up with a schedule for another in-person network event. One thing to mention - The site is being designed around honesty. To accomplish this we are using a vouching system so momentum will come through networking with others you know vouching for you and you for them. But - In the end as we pull HR professionals into the site, not only can they see your listed skills, but also others that make you a true and honest member. It is a networking site - It will be great for anyone either job searching and trying to get themselves out there. It is NOT a job posting site. we will be announcing a new Website platform that is designed to support the Job Applicant market in Tampa Bay and Central Florida. We are hoping this to become a strong resource for Applicants and for connecting Applicants with opportunities in the upcoming future. Take a peek - Kick the tires. It is not 100% where I want it but will be by the weekend. The early signup password will be given to attendees on the event tonight.
