About this event
Discussion led by Pravrajika Gayatriprana, a senior nun of [Sri Sarada Math](www.saradavedanta.org) Join our Vedanta Society members and friends from 7:30 pm via ZOOM: Link available for attendees OR JOIN US IN PERSON FROM 7 PM FOR SILENT MEDITATION AT: Vedanta Hall, 15 Liverpool Road, Croydon NSW and stay on for the discussion. Continuing Study of Chapter 17, Verses 4 - 7: The Three Types of Faith Discussion Themes: • ROOT OF THE ACTION - While it’s good to improve the quality of our actions Vedanta philosophy encourages us to take it to another level by dealing with the root of the action, by improving our ‘mental disposition.’ This leads to steadiness, this leads to excellence. • WELL-ROUNDED AUSTERITY - Austerity features prominently in the spiritual path. Pursuing a disciplined and regulated life leads to efficiency, mental clarity, better health, prosperity, and, most importantly, enhanced spiritual well-being. Well-rounded austerity encompasses body, speech and mind. • \*\*SHAPING THE MIND - ‘\*\*Normally, we do not care what happens to the mind in the midst of an action. We are very worried about the action. But we must also see what reactions are created in the mind through that action. How is the mind being handled? How is it being shaped? Every action shapes the mind also, and not merely the external world.’ We're a multicultural group of varying ages, including our Vedanta Society members and friends. We always welcome new faces and new perspectives.
