Echoes of the Concrete Jungle
About this event
If you have ever walked past a forgotten building or an overgrown lot in Newport News and wondered about the stories tucked away behind the chain-link fences, this circle is for you. We are gathering a small group of local urban explorers who appreciate the history, architecture, and quiet beauty of our city’s post-industrial landscape. This is not about trespassing or destruction; it is about documenting the structures that time has left behind and sharing the unique perspectives that only come from looking at our neighborhood through a different lens. We will spend the session sharing photos, discussing safe exploration practices, and highlighting some of the most interesting spots tucked away in the concrete corners of the city. Whether you are an experienced photographer, a local history enthusiast, or just someone who enjoys wandering off the beaten path, you will find a welcoming space here. Come ready to trade some stories and maybe find a few new partners for your next weekend walk. We are capping the group size to keep the conversation manageable and focused. If you are interested in joining the discussion, please let us know by clicking the RSVP button.
