About this event

This workshop is designed for graduate students applying for the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral (CGRS D) from the national funding agencies: CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC. Drawing on evidence-based research about successful grant proposals, the facilitator discusses particular elements of this written academic genre: audience, purpose, knowledge gap, competence claim, structure, style, and more. The workshop includes examples of successful UBC CGRS D research proposals, and embedded time to write. Facilitator: Dr. Xuan Zhang, Centre for Writing and Scholarly Communication Location: IKBLC, Level 3, Dodson Room and on Zoom. Registrants receive the Zoom link 1 day prior to the workshop.
