Simplicity Storytelling Circle
About this event
Submit your story here: https://forms.gle/nf6jkxd6XL2tHE5o9 The Simplicity Storytelling Circle is a new event being hosted by members of the Simplicity Living Circle of Northern VA at Lacey Woods Park. Rather than hosting a group activity, this event is oriented around the simple, time-honored oral tradition of storytelling around a fire. Designed to provide attendees with a space for their stories to be seen, heard, and known, the gathering will consist of several speakers who have signed up via the form linked above. (You do not have to submit a story to attend!) Stories can vary in length and can run for up to 10 minutes, and after each story we'll have time for a brief discussion before our next speaker begins. What we consider a 'story' is pretty flexible; as long as you can explain why what you're sharing matters to you in your submission, we'll likely be down for it. That said, please keep your submissions acceptable for all ages as the group is just starting out. If there is extra time by the end of the event, we may open the floor for volunteers to share their stories. We plan to experiment with the format of this event for the first few iterations, so please give us your feedback and be sure to check the Meetup page for the next event in case things change!
