Change Data Capture: The Shouldas, Couldas, and Wouldas
About this event
Change Data Capture (CDC) looks straightforward on paper: enable it on the database, enable it on a table, and you're off. But what happens when your log fills up? What if you have to set it up in an Always On Availability Group (AG)? What if you want to add a column to a table? In this session we'll walk through what CDC is, how it works under the hood, and how to configure it the right way for both standalone SQL Server instances and AGs. Along the way, I'll also share the lessons I learned the hard way so you don't have to make the same mistakes. You'll leave this session with a practical checklist for deploying CDC without having to discover the shouldas, couldas, and wouldas yourself.
