About this event

As a quiet woman leader, it's not always easy to find others who understand the challenges of being a quiet achiever trying to perform and be visible in an extrovert-biased workplace. Our monthly walk + talk is an opportunity to combine meaningful conversation (with low or no small talk!) with time in nature + movement (which are mood enhancers and so good for mental health). WHAT YOU GAIN: • Share what it's like being a quiet woman leader • Supportively listen to others' stories • Share knowledge, wisdom, resources • Make new friends! • Learn and grow together • Expand your professional network • Gain new ideas and perspectives • Gain courage, inspiration, and motivation ITINERARY • 11am: Meet at the entrance of the visitor information centre. • If the weather is fine, we will go for a walk around Fitzroy Gardens. • If it gets wet, we will meet inside KereKere Green Cafe, next to the visitor information centre. • The event finishes at 12.30pm. GETTING THERE: The closest train stations are Jolimont and Parliament. COST: There is an organizer fee of $5.00 for this event. PayID 0403 413 056 (Serena Low). COMMUNITY GUIDELINES: • To keep the activity introvert-friendly, I am capping the number at 8 so it's not overwhelming and everyone gets to talk to at least one person. • We are responsible for the energy we bring. • Come with a heart to give - not just to gain. • Honour your own social battery - if it gets overwhelming for any reason, just say "Thanks, but I have to go now" - and leave. No need for long explanations or apologies. We are all introverts and some of us also have sensory overwhelm, are highly sensitive, have chronic fatigue or social anxiety, or are neurodivergent etc. We get it.
