Let's Take a Hike!
About this event
It's October! Pumpkin spice everything, cooler days, Halloween.... Which makes it perfect for... Taking a hike! We will meet outside the west entrance of Cleveland Park Metro Station at 12 noon. Cleveland Park Metro is located on the Red Line in norrthwest Washington, DC. We will then head over to the western trailhead of Klingle Valley Trail. Klingle Valley Trail is a paved, 0.7 mile trail that is perfect for beginners and advanced hikers. The trail has two primary ends: the Western Trailhead (near Connecticut Avenue) and the Eastern Trailhead (down in the valley near Rock Creek Park). The western entrance is only a 10-minute walk from the station. The trails is also near Rock Creek Park. Afterwards, we can go out to eat. Highland Tavern at 3421 Connecticut Avenue NW is a good choice, because it's quiet. However, the menu is rather limited. IPle Be sure to bring lots of water and wear sturdy, nonslip, comfortable shoes and dress in layers. It may be chilly, but we will warm up as we hike. If the forecast calls for heavy rain or anything worse, I'll reschedule for the 24th. See you soon, Jenny
