FALCAT Level Up+: Beyond the Classroom

FALCAT Level Up+: Beyond the Classroom is an integrated workshop series which seeks to teach Adamsonians career development skills as well as basic technical skills. Taking note of the fact that professional readiness and technical skills are important, the program tries to bridge the gap between classroom education and industry expectations through three related learning modules. The series is composed of three events: Beyond the Degree: Building Your Resume and LinkedIn Presence: teaches participants how to highlight their skills, academic project and achievements while building up an online professional presence. Cloud Foundations: Understanding AI Agents and Agent Harnesses: teaches participants about basic concepts about AI agents, such as how the agents utilize tools, perform workflows and handle context in order to perform tasks. This event will serve as the introduction of the conceptual basis of how AI agents are built and deployed through AWS tools. Cloud Foundations: Building and Deploying AI Agents with AWS: gives participants the chance to practically develop a customer service AI agent using Strands Agents and deploy it via Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime. Participants will explore different aspects of AI agents such as tool integration, workflow control, conversation memory and cloud deployment. Through these sessions, the workshop aims to help students strengthen their employability, develop industry-relevant technical skills, and build confidence in pursuing technology-related opportunities in an evolving digital landscape.
