About this event

⚡️Live dance & music - FREE 🎟️ Be sure to pre-register on the venue's website The Korean Cultural Center is a sleek, modern space that's perfect for a show like this one. 🎭 Modern Korean Mask Dance: "Mask Off" Check out their YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbCkht5ke1s) > Join us for an extraordinary evening as the Korean Cultural Center NY presents Mask Off (탈바꿈), a groundbreaking contemporary performance by the prestigious National Dance Company of Korea (https://www.ntok.go.kr/dance-en/main.do). In this performance, dancers wear digital LED masks while they move to a pulsing, innovative score composed by avant-garde geomungo artist Park Da-ul, colliding centuries-old folk tradition with a modern EDM soundscape. It’s a hypnotic, high-energy reinvention of traditional talchum (Korean mask dance). What We'll Experience • The Dance: A 60-minute explosive contemporary reimagining of talchum. • The Visuals: Exaggerated physicality accented by shifting digital LED face masks. • The Music: A live 5-piece band blending the deep, percussive plucking of the geomungo (traditional six-string zither) with modern electronic digital loops. 🗓️ When & Where Sunday, November 1, 2026 👥 We'll meet in the lobby at 4:15 pm Seating starts 4:30 \| show at 5:00 FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVED 📍 Location: Korean Cultural Center NY 🇰🇷 122 E 32nd Street, New York, NY 10016 😍 Admission is FREE, but you must pre-register online to secure a seat: https://www.koreanculture.org/performing-arts/2026/10/31/mask-off After the Show If anyone's interested, we can grab some food/drink nearby. 🤩 Hope to see you there! ***
