Halloween Prelude! Haunted Greenwich Village Tour
About this event
Note that I am shifting this tour from Saturday the 31st to Friday the 30th in the afternoon due to having moved our Northwest Bronx tour from Saturday the 17th to the 31st. RSVPs open on Sunday, October 18th at 11:00am. Space is set aside for new group members, first and 2nd timers who land on the waiting list. Email me to request a spot AFTER you have RSVP'd. This is free with a welcome donation to your guide via cash, Venmo or Zeller at the end of the tour. Join us for a Halloween-themed tour to visit the haunted locations in Greenwich Village which is likely NYC's most ghostly neighborhood. Note that this tour is not for the faint of heart - at least we're not doing this at night which also allows for those indulging in Halloween night to go home and get your costumes ready! In between the haunted buildings and locations I will cover the multi-layered history of Greenwich Village from its early development 200 years ago through the area's artistic, literary, dramatic and musical legacies and impact on NYC's enduring creative spirit. I will also tell the backstory of the famous Village Halloween Parade. We'll meet in front of the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center which opens at 10am and has restrooms and worthwhile exhibits. Plenty of coffee shops nearby as well. https://stonewallvisitorcenter.org/ The tour will end at Washington Square Park. Cheers from your organizer, Hank 646-596-3005 [email protected] Pictured: St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery is said to be haunted by the ghost of Peter Stuyvesant, the Governor of New Amsterdam in the mid-1600s whose was buried in a vault beneath the church.
