This engaging five-week workshop, developed by The League of Women Voters of Jefferson County, invites you to look at the role of media disinformation and bias in polarizing our society. From the ancient history of propaganda to the contemporary rise of social media and generative AI. Learn to recognize media and personal bias, identify misinformation and listen to a panel discussion by local journalists and professors. Series based around the book True or False: A CIA Analyst's Guide to Spotting Fake News, by Cindy L. Otis. Weekly Theme: Hear from the Experts Prepare yourself for changes ahead by learning about AI, the threats it presents to the media and elections and how you can manage it. Hear from local experts in a panel discussion as they address media trends, the decline in local news, the dangers of media disinformation and what you can do about it.
