Friends of Inspiration: Rewriting Your Beliefs For A Creative Life
About this event
What if some of the beliefs holding you back creatively aren't actually true? Many of us carry beliefs about creativity that we picked up somewhere along the way: "I'm not talented enough." "I'm not really a creative person." "It's too late for me to start." "I need to know what I'm doing before I begin." "My creative work has to be good enough to share." "I don't have enough time." These beliefs can quietly shape what we attempt, what we avoid, and how freely we express ourselves. In this interactive online workshop, we'll explore how our beliefs influence our creative lives, and experiment with ways to consciously create new beliefs that support curiosity, courage, play, and creative expression. This isn't just a conversation. We'll work with the body, breath, imagination, and nervous system as well as the mind. During our time together, we'll explore: 🎨 Discussion & Reflection We'll look at common beliefs that can inhibit creativity and consider where they come from, how they affect us, and what might become possible when we begin to question them. 🌬️ Breathwork We'll use gentle, intentional breathing to help shift out of habitual patterns and create a greater sense of openness and possibility. 🧘 Guided Meditation A guided meditation will help you quiet the mental noise and connect with the deeper creative part of yourself. 🌿 Somatic Exercises We'll bring awareness into the body and explore how beliefs can show up physically through tension, resistance, contraction, or ease. ✨ Visualization You'll be guided through visualizations designed to help you imagine yourself living and creating from more supportive beliefs. 📝 Belief Rewriting You'll have an opportunity to identify a belief that may be limiting your creative life and begin developing a new belief that feels more empowering, authentic, and aligned with the person you want to become. You don't need to consider yourself an "artist." Creativity isn't limited to painting, writing, music, or performing. It can show up in parenting, relationships, problem-solving, business, cooking, gardening, entrepreneurship, spirituality, and the simple way we approach everyday life. This workshop is for anyone who feels called to live a more creative life, whether you're already making art or simply want to reconnect with the part of yourself that likes to imagine, explore, experiment, and play. Come with an open mind, a little curiosity, and a willingness to look at your beliefs from a new perspective. Bring a journal or piece of paper and something to write with. Let's explore what becomes possible when we stop treating our old beliefs as fixed truths and start creating new ones.
