Philosophy Roundtable: Feminism
About this event
Please join us this Sunday to discuss Feminism and how it plays a role in our lives today. We will meet at the Captain Melville at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp Please note the new $5 mandatory donation entry fee (cash or transfer on day) to help with MeetUp subscription costs There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo in the spirit of learning, sharing thoughts and friendly debate. We welcome your self-reflections! In addition feel free to question assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions questioned. This event is also posted to the Socrates Cafe group Discussion questions: 1. Perspectives on the definition of feminism. 2. How has feminism evolved over the years? 3. What major changes have we noticed within feminist movements in the last few years? 4. Perception of feminism - what are the nuanced perceptions of this ideology? What impacts how we think about it? 5. What makes this ideology such a contentious one? Understanding opposition to feminism. Please feel free to also bring additional questions you would like to explore! Looking forward to unpacking this! Hope to see you there!
