About this event

The Connection Collective brings people together through real stories, shared experiences and human connection — creating community, nurturing belonging and helping reduce social and emotional isolation. Connection shouldn’t be something we have to navigate alone. People can be surrounded by others and still feel lonely, socially disconnected or emotionally isolated. The Connection Collective creates real-world opportunities for people to meet, listen, share and feel part of something — because meaningful connection and belonging are important parts of a healthy community. Join us for an intimate community evening where storytellers share true personal stories inspired by a different theme each month. The theme gives the evening a shared starting point, but every story is unique, funny, moving, surprising or reflective. Each story lasts up to eight minutes and comes from lived experience. Come as a storyteller or as a listener. No speaking experience is required, just a real story and a willingness to share. Leave feeling more connected. You can join us in one of two ways: 1. 🎤 As a storyteller, sharing an 8 minute true story • Your story might be about being seen, accepted or included. • It might be about finding your people, discovering where you fit • Or experiencing the feeling of coming home. 2. 👂 As an audience member, coming along to listen and connect There’s something powerful about hearing real stories from real people. We begin to recognise ourselves in each other and discover just how connected we already are. If you’re considering sharing a story but don’t feel completely ready, this is your invitation to answer the call to be courageous, and improvise some parts of it along the way 😉 Sometimes, we only recognise the growth after we’ve taken the step. 🎟️ Register to attend: https://events.humanitix.com/storytelling-night-redfern?dateId=69a917f2db815ecdcd0b6c91 ABOUT João Bazan, is the Founder of The Connection Collective, a Sydney-based not-for-profit dedicated to strengthening social connection, emotional wellbeing, and community belonging.
