ZINES with Tina Yan

About this event

Adult, Teen. Join Edmonton Public Library Featured Creator Tina Yan to create your very own Zine on a topic of your choice. Bring all your amazing ideas, any materials of your choice, and plenty of curiosity and excitement to experiment and have fun. Welcoming creatives of any form — whether you're a writer, artist, photographer or musician, or just someone who has something to share — you are invited to explore the various possibilities of zine-making and to share your stories, experiences and thoughts through your project. Materials and prompts (optional for use) will be provided. Attendees can bring their own materials. Tina Yan (aka XANUROK) is a Chinese-Canadian illustrator, designer and educator based in Edmonton with an energetic approach influenced by manga, street art, skateboarding, and rock music. She holds a MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a BDes from OCAD University, both in illustration. Through her work and teaching, she blends bold narratives and fearless experimentation to inspire others to find their voice and enjoy the process. Tina self-published her first manga RUDBECKIA in 2022 and continues to explore storytelling through personal comics and creating zines.
