About this event

Adults: 18 and up. Join us for a discussion of our 2026 One Book, One Chicago selection Orbital by Samantha Harvey. In gorgeous, lyrical prose, Samantha Harvey follows six astronauts as they orbit the earth in the international space station over the course of a 24-hour period. At 90 minutes each, the craft completes 16 orbits in a day, revealing breathtaking views of earth from 250 miles above. During their stint on the space station, the astronauts muse about the lives they left behind, family members they've lost, and the events that have led them to this improbable, awe-inspiring place.
