Read to Pet Pals

Family, Kids (6-8 years), Preschoolers (3-5 years), Tweens (9-13 years). Read to Pet Pals gives kids the chance to read to a non-judgmental listener, one who will accept the story exactly as they read it. For many children, this allows them a rare chance to experience stress free reading. Being able to relax and have fun reading increases motivation to read, which is an essential element in becoming a successful reader. Diamond, will be listening to stories every every Friday. Read to Pet Pals is designed to allow kids the chance to read to a non-judgmental listener, one who will accept the story exactly as they read it. For many children, this allows them a rare chance to experience stress free reading; they're able to relax and having fun while reading! How does Read to Pet Pals work? Kids come to library during Read to Pet Pals and select a book to read to a furry friend. All of the pets and handlers who participate have been certified as therapy animals by an accredited organization. Thinking of adopting a pet?
