About this event

All Adults, College Students, Older Adults, Young Adults (Ages 20-34). Are you ready to take your life experiences and form them into essays? Join us for this welcoming and inclusive class, led by Judy McClure, which offers participants the opportunity to learn and develop as writers of personal essays. Each session will explore the craft of essay writing through prompts to awaken the writing mind, readings of published essays to inspire our own work, and writing sessions based around a theme. We’ll generate new writing, learn revision techniques, support each other’s writing, and develop and experiment with telling our personal stories. Writers at all levels of practice are welcome and former participants are invited to return and continue their writing journey. About Judy McClure: Judy McClure is a writer and educator who works and lives in Roslindale. She writes creative nonfiction that focuses on nature, relationships, education, and identity. She is a graduate of Grub Street’s Essay Incubator and teaches in Boston, Arlington, and New York. Her writing can be found at WBUR’s Edify, 805LitMag, Miniskirt Magazine, and others. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library. Accessibility Notice: We strive to make our events accessible.
