Discussion: The Anti-Social Era, disconnection and the lost art of hanging out.
About this event
We often say we stay in because we’re tired or just prefer it, yet something bigger seems to be changing beneath the surface. In this discussion, we’ll explore what’s happening to the way we connect today. Is technology to blame, or is something deeper going on? Have we lost the skill of simply hanging out, or just the habit? Most importantly, we’ll exchange ideas for how we can reconnect in a world that keeps pulling us apart. Question will explore: 1. How do you usually spend time with others now, and how has that changed over the years? 2. Do you feel more connected or more distant from people since technology became such a big part of daily life? 3. Can you recall a time when showing up without a plan led to something meaningful? 4. In a world that keeps us busy and apart, what small habits or choices could help make connection feel like a natural part of everyday life? IMPORTANT NOTE: This group is meant for friendly conversation, not for dating or romantic pursuits, so we ask everyone to be respectful of each other's boundaries.😊 Attendance Requirement: Come hungry! This discussion comes with tacos and guacamole. Food or drink purchase required, because good hosts deserve good support.😋🌮 Also, a small ask: Please, bring $1 to the event. It costs about $350 a year to keep this Meetup running, so every dollar makes a difference. Thank you 🙏 and If you are attending, read the guidelines below to help keep this a welcoming space for all of us. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FmaAcVASz_pQA9ikS_X-wF-8m8JfnZYESy6Yy4RxgwY/edit?usp=drivesdk
