Philosophy Cafe: To name a Thought is to change it: the Paradox of Language
About this event
Agne Zo presents To name a Thought is to change it: the Paradox of Language at this Philosophy Cafe London evening. Where does a thought begin, and when does it become a sentence? We tend to move between thought and language automatically that the boundary between them can be imperceptible. But it doesn’t mean it is not there. Perhaps something happens in that movement: something takes shape, it shifts, or is left behind. Philosophers have approached this strange territory in very different ways. This talk is an invitation to linger there for a while, to look at the space between what is thought, what is felt, and what can be communicated to the world. You do not need to have studied philosophy or arrive with specialist knowledge. Curiosity and a willingness to join the dialogue are enough. The conversation does not have to stop when the formal part ends. People often stay afterwards for a drink and a chat, and that informal part helps Philosophy Cafe become a friendly community rather than just a series of events.
