ELGAR | Pomp and Circumstance March no. 1, op. 39/1 VAUGHAN WILLIAMS | English Folk Song Suite CHEN Qigang | Instants d'un Opéra de Pékin ELGAR | Cello Concerto in E minor, op. 85 Cello master Yo-Yo Ma returns to the HK Phil’s stage to perform Elgar’s deeply moving Cello Concerto. The programme also includes Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March no. 1 – whose melody is used in Land of Hope and Glory, the must-sing song in the BBC Proms – and Vaughan Williams’s English Folk Song Suite. Chen Qigang studied under Olivier Messiaen in his youth, his work Instants d'un Opéra de Pékin draws on traditional Peking Opera elements and integrates orchestral techniques, creating a deeply textured soundscape woven with the colours of Peking Opera music.

艾爾加｜《威儀堂堂》第一進行曲，op. 39/1 佛漢威廉士｜《英國民謠組曲》 陳其鋼｜《京劇瞬間》 艾爾加｜E小調大提琴協奏曲，op. 85 大提琴大師馬友友再度登上港樂舞台，演奏深邃動人的艾爾加協奏曲！同場還有艾爾加的《威儀堂堂》第一進行曲──BBC 逍遙音樂節每年必唱的《希望與榮耀之地》旋律便是自此曲──以及另一位重要英國作曲家佛漢威廉士的《英國民謠組曲》。陳其鋼早年師隨法國作曲大師梅湘，《京劇瞬間》參考傳統京劇元素，融合管弦樂技法，聽感層次豐富，展現京劇音樂的色彩。
