Computer Basics: Using Your Computer

All Adults. This workshop is for individuals who feel they are struggling to understand and use their personal computers. Led by a Hyde Park librarian, this class will focus on: Identifying the basic parts of a computer: Screen (monitor), keyboard, mouse, and the computer itself.Understanding the difference between hardware and software: hardware (the things you can touch, like the keyboard) and software (the programs that make the computer work).Managing windows: Adjusting the screen (make them big (maximize), small (minimize), or close them).Using a mouse: Click, double-click, drag things, and scroll. It is best to bring your own laptop, but a limited number of library laptops are available. If you need a library computer, please call 617-361-2524 to reserve your computer if available.
