Beneath the Shade of the Sheltering Tree: Our First Online Gathering
About this event
Wednesday, November 12th • 7:00 PM Eastern Online Event — Join from wherever you live in the world This first meetup is a calm, welcoming space for people who’ve lived through shingles or post‑herpetic neuralgia and want to share what the journey truly felt like. Whether your experience was recent or years ago, whether you’re still healing or simply wanting to connect, you are welcome here. What we’ll do • Begin with a casual check in. Share a few personal stories (just if you want to - listening is participating too). Have a conversation about the difficulties that people go through when other people "don't want to hear about it anymore. "Provide support, empathy and connection. “ End with a moment of reflection and hope. Who this meetup is for Anyone who has experienced shingles or PHN — the pain, the exhaustion, the confusion, the loneliness, the long recovery, or the unexpected emotional impact. You don’t need to prepare anything. You don’t need to turn your camera on. You don’t need to talk if you don’t want to. Why this matters Many people discover there’s no national organization, no central place to turn, and no community that truly understands what shingles can do to a person’s body, mind, and life. This group exists to change that — gently, honestly, and with empathy. Join us Come exactly as you are. Bring your story, your questions, your silence, your resilience — whatever you have. You can join from anywhere in the world, without needing to meet in person. This is the beginning of a community-built on truth, compassion, and lived experience.
