About this event

Teens (Ages 13-18). Games can be more than just a fun distraction: they can be a means to connect with people, make new friends, and deepen analytic thinking. From Mario Kart 8 to Connect Four, games can temporarily unite a group of buddies –– or strangers –– under a common goal, interest, or strategy. Continuing in 2026, Teen Central will dedicate both time and space for teens looking to explore both competitive and cooperative play in a series of biweekly events dedicated to social gaming. On August 14, teens will gather for a series of different escape-room-style puzzles and challenges. We will be using the Exit and Escape Room: The Game series of board games alongside the insanely fun cooperative video game, Escape Academy, to derive the challenge. Winning teams will walk away with $25 EACH in Amazon gift card prizes! Got an idea for a Have You No Game?! afternoon? Email event coordinator Chris Jacobs at [email protected] and we can consider it for an upcoming date! Accessibility Notice: We strive to make our events accessible. To request a disability accommodation and/or language services, contact the department listed in the "Contact Info" pane on the right. Please allow at least two weeks to arrange accommodation. Programming at the Boston Public Library is funded through private support. To learn more about supporting the Library, please visit the Boston Public Library Fund's website.
