I’ll share how we tackle gameable tests, shared blind spots, and the gap between passing checks and a working database, turning autonomous coding into reliable engineering. Mattias & Daniël - Long timers in databases, especially in the MySQL ecosystem, since 2021 at TiDB, powered by PingCAP Last year we introduced TiDB X, the new evolution of TiDB on cloud, where we integrate an object store as the core storage. We will go through what benefits its gives and how we changed some core part of the database architecture to leverage it, like LSM improvements with offloaded compaction, Index creation and more. Rohit Nayak, Core Vitess team member and maintainer for six years and now a founding member of the Neki team, sharding PostgreSQL at PlanetScale. Neki is a distributed database solution built on Postgres. The talk will give an overview of how we architected Neki from first principles to bring Vitess-level scale and reliability to PostgreSQL workloads.
