Work on your own projects and chat with others anytime, not just during breaks or lunch. Conversations are mainly in Japanese, but English is welcome too. ・Date: Sat, Oct 31, 11:00–16:00 (drop in and leave anytime; just visiting the house is also welcome) ・13:00–14:00 Lunch (go to a nearby restaurant together, or stay at the house) ・Fee: Free ・What to bring: laptop or anything you'd like to work on (reading and planning are fine too). Slippers and a mug if you have them (free water server available) ・No sales or solicitation, please. Please ask before taking photos that include other people ■ What is "Mokumoku-kai"? Our sessions are called "Kominka Mokumoku-kai" (pronounced ko-min-ka mo-ku-mo-ku-kai). A mokumoku-kai is a popular style of gathering in Japan's tech community, where people get together and work on their own tasks. "Kominka" means an old Japanese house. Ours is relaxed: chatting while you work is welcome. ■ What is a "Nagaya"? A nagaya is a traditional Japanese row house: several homes built side by side in one long wooden building, sharing their walls. Many nagaya were built in Osaka in the past, and many still remain in the city today. UTAJIMA NOOK is one unit of a nagaya built nearly 100 years ago, with wooden pillars, sliding doors and tatami rooms. Venue: UTAJIMA NOOK, 3-3-43 Utajima, Nishiyodogawa-ku, Osaka. 5-minute walk from Exit 4a, Mitejima Station (JR Tozai Line) ■ About Mite Art 2026 This event is held in collaboration with Mite Art 2026, the Nishiyodogawa art festival. Visitors to Mite Art will come and go during the session. Through this event, you can also take part in Mite Art 2026. Mite Art 2026 (Instagram): https://www.instagram.com/nishiyodo_miteart/
