SHOWA & HEISEI: Discover Japan Through Conversation Discover Japan beyond the textbook. What did people in Japan listen to, watch, and talk about in the Showa and Heisei eras? From iconic songs and TV shows to school life, work culture, and social changes, each session explores one topic from Japan's recent past. We start with a short introduction, then share experiences, compare perspectives, and discuss what these stories reveal about Japanese society today. What to expect • A different topic every week • Japanese and international participants sharing their perspectives • New discoveries about Japanese history, society, and culture You don't need to be an expert in Japanese history. Curiosity is enough. This is not a lecture or a traditional language exchange. It's a place to discover Japan together through conversation. Come curious.
