Aiki Leadership Lab | Alignment: part 2!
About this event
Alignment: Harmony Begins Within Aiki Leadership Lab | Sunday, 1 November 2026 How can we create harmony with others while remaining true to ourselves? In Aikido, alignment is fundamental to effective movement. When our posture, balance and intention work together, we can achieve more with less unnecessary effort. But alignment goes far beyond physical movement. Our thoughts, feelings, physical impulses, intentions and actions are not always working together. Sometimes we experience internal conflicts that influence how we communicate, make decisions and relate to others. And here lies an interesting paradox. Two people can each be perfectly aligned with their own intentions, thoughts and actions, yet find themselves in conflict with one another. What prevents us from finding alignment with others, even when we feel aligned within ourselves? Perhaps some of the obstacles lie in the assumptions we make, our expectations, or our attachment to being right. What happens when we surrender these assumptions? Can we release resistance without abandoning our intentions, values or direction? And is surrender always comfortable, or can it temporarily disturb our inner balance before opening new possibilities? What Will We Explore? Through simple embodied exercises, personal reflection and interactive dialogue, we'll investigate: • How can we recognise alignment and misalignment within ourselves? • What happens in our bodies when we encounter disagreement or resistance? • How do our assumptions influence our thoughts, feelings and actions? • Can surrendering our assumptions help us rediscover balance and connection? • Can we harmonise with others without compromising our own intentions and values? Rather than simply discussing these ideas intellectually, we'll explore how they manifest in our bodies and everyday interactions. Harmony doesn't necessarily mean agreement. It means discovering how we can connect and move forward together while respecting our differences. Who Is This Session For? This session is for anyone curious about developing greater self-awareness, improving relationships and discovering how to create harmony with others. It may be particularly interesting for: • Leaders, managers and facilitators seeking to inspire cooperation and navigate differences. • Coaches, educators and professionals interested in embodied awareness and human connection. • Anyone navigating personal or professional relationships who wants to respond more consciously to disagreement or resistance. • Aikido practitioners interested in applying Aiki principles beyond the dojo. No previous experience is necessary, and you don't need to have attended Part 1. This is a fresh exploration of Alignment, open to everyone. All you need is curiosity, openness and a willingness to explore! About the Aiki Leadership Lab The Aiki Leadership Lab (A.L.L.) is a welcoming space for exploring awareness, personal development, human relationships and leadership through the embodied principles of Aikido.
