[Meet up] "Senbero" Night!@NIKUMARUYA
About this event
Meetup "Merry Christmas!!" in Summer? No, it's a "Senbero" Night! Why not spend a wonderful evening at The DECK, a vibrant coworking space located at Sakaisuji Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro? This meetup aims to bring together locals and international guests living in or visiting Osaka. Whether you are studying, working, or doing business in Japan, this is the perfect opportunity to network, make connections, and share your experiences. We look forward to seeing you all! ■ Date & Time Wednesday, August 19, 2026 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (We will gather at The DECK first, but you are also welcome to go directly to the venue.) ■ Event Details: What is "Senbero"? "Senbero" is a popular Japanese slang term that literally means "getting tipsy for 1,000 yen." In English, it is sometimes funnily translated as a "1,000-yen belly-up." The best part of Senbero is its unbeatable value: for just around 1,000 yen (approx. $7), you get 2 drinks along with a few small side dishes (known as "Ate" or pub snacks). You can usually find these budget-friendly spots buzzing with office workers after hours, hidden away in train station basements or retro back alleys. This time, we are hosting a hands-on Senbero experience at "Nikumaruya," located right downstairs from The DECK! ■ Meeting Point The DECK at 6:00 PM 2-Chome-1-1 Minamihonmachi, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 541-0054 (Directly connected to Exit 14 of Sakaisuji Honmachi Station) If you are joining after 6:00 PM, please come directly to Nikumaruya. You are welcome to join at any time until 8:00 PM. ■ Event Venue Nikumaruya (Located on the B1 floor of the same building) ■ Senbero Menu 1,000-yen Senbero set includes: ・1 draft beer ・1 chuhai or highball ・1 small appetizer ・3 kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) Additional food and drinks can be ordered individually. Please pay for any additional orders directly to the restaurant. ■ Fee Participation is FREE! (Please pay for your own food and drinks directly to the restaurant. It will be around 1,000 yen for the Senbero combo.) ■ Why The DECK provides a place for international guests and the Osaka community to interact Since our opening in 2016, we have been fostering a welcoming, home-like environment and building strong community connections with locals. The DECK actively supports people from abroad to start or run a business in Japan. We hope that by connecting with the Osaka community, you will make friends, find trusted associates, and have people you can reach out to when you decide to move here or start your own business someday. We are always here to help you realize your dreams! *** 【BLOG】 https://en.thedeck.jp/blog
